The Transportation Enhancement & Scenic Roads Section develops projects which enhance surface transportation facilities. They include providing amenities which go above and beyond what is typically required for roadway projects. Projects are funded and constructed per applicable federal and state legislation including the development of Parkways, Historic and Scenic Roads in the state. The Safe Routes to School Program provides funding and technical assistance to eligible applicants who want to make it safer and easier for K-8 students to walk and bicycle to school.
