Project Information

 

The 17th Avenue Pedestrians Enhancements project is located at the capitol complex in Phoenix; featuring enhancement to the vehicular and pedestrian experience in that area.

    • Activity 1: Provision of Facilities for Pedestrians and Bicyclists
    • Activity 5: Landscaping and Other Scenic Beautification

  • Location
    • City: Phoenix, Arizona
    • Route: 17th Avenue
    • Limits: Between Van Buren and Jackson Streets
    • Directions: Take I-17 to Jefferson Street; go east on Jefferson to 17th Avenue; turn left on 17th Avenue

  • Components
    • Widen existing sidewalks
    • Upgrade street lighting
    • Provide pavers at crosswalks
    • Update ramps to American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards
    • Provide landscaping for more shading
    • Reduce speed limit on 17th Avenue
    • Cost of project: $1,273,788
