Project Information

 

The Ocean to Ocean Highway Bridge project is located in Yuma, Arizona; featuring rehabilitation of the historic structure, and providing an enhanced experience for pedestrians and motorists.

    • Activity 7: Rehabilitation of Historic Transportation Building, Structures, or Facilities

  • Location
    • City: Yuma, Arizona
    • Route: Ocean to Ocean Bridge at the Colorado River
    • Limits: Colorado River
    • Directions: Take I-8 to 4th Avenue; go south on 4th Avenue to 1st Street; turn left at 1st Street; go east past Gila Street; and continue to the Colorado River

  • Components
    • Replace bridge deck
    • Install bridge barrier
    • Replace pedestrian walkways
    • Install signals at each end of bridge to regulate one-way traffic
    • Repair bent bridge trusses
    • Install watertight deck joints
    • Cost of project: $1,200,000
    • Sponsor: Yuma County
    • Partners: City of Yuma, Quechan Tribe
